What is PPE? And why do we wear it?

What is PPE?

P.P.E. stands for Personal Protective Equipment.

Our technicians wear it to protect themselves from mold, drywall dust, bio-hazard chemicals or anything that could be harmful.

About PPE: At AAA Restoration we believe in creating a safe work environment. It is our job to provide a safe workplace. This includes providing our employees with proper instructions, policies and procedures, training and supervision all encouraging employees to work safely and responsibly. PPE is a large part of providing a safe work environment especially when it comes to mold removal or bio-hazard cleanup.

Training: We provide training about why PPE is important and how to properly wear it.

Storage: We also ensure the proper storage of personal protective equipment. This helps to protect the protective equipment.

Why do we wear it?: When working with mold spores you can disturb them and they will go airborne. If the remediation job disturbs mold and mold spores become airborne, then the risk of respiratory exposure goes up.

In conclusion, PPE is an important part of disaster restoration and ensuring that our technicians are safe. Personal Protective Equipment lives up to its name, it protects.
